Consider what type of data is produced by the summative evaluation tool. This will be important in what statistical studies can be used for data analysis.
Why, in Vietnam, was personal leadership so very important? Refer to specific examples.

Guided Study In home health nurses will improved work schedule and stress reduction training reduce nurse burnout? Tip: Evaluation methods are focused on your identified outcome in your PICOT question. If you say that this intervention is going to produce this outcome then you must first determine how you will evaluate that outcome (evaluation criteria) what tool(s) will be used to evaluate the evaluation criteria what type of data is produced and how you will analyze the data to see if the intervention had the intended positive effect on the outcome in the selected population and setting. You are looking for a change in the selected outcome not just a change in knowledge attitude or opinion. 1. The research or study of a DNP project is really an evaluation of the effect of the intervention implemented in the project. What design will you be using for the evaluation of your project? 2. Determine the evaluation criteria by considering what will tell you that you have been successful in causing a positive change in the outcome. Summative (sometimes referred to as impact) evaluation is at the end. Look for a tool that measures your selected outcome and consider whether reliability and validity have been established for the tool. Formative (sometimes referred to as process) evaluation is to determine whether the change has actually been implemented. Without intermittent formative evaluation you will not know if the intervention did or did not cause the intended outcome because you will not know whether or not it was actually implemented. Consider how you will know whether the change is being implemented; this may be by audit. Consider how often you want to evaluate the formative criteria and when you will evaluate the summative criteria. Consider what type of data is produced by the summative evaluation tool. This will be important in what statistical studies can be used for data analysis. 4. Determine appropriate statistical analysis methods. You may want to consult with the CCN statistician (fee for service) or the nurse researcher at your facility. Example: you have selected the pre-test/post- test design. You plan to use descriptive statistics (mean SD range of scores) and the paired t-test for statistical analysis of your data. You plan to perform statistical analysis using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Required reading for this week: Zaccagnini M.
